More "proper" firework rockets from the 1980s - Standard Sky Rockets

The rockets featured here are shop dummies from the 1980s, or  dead fired examples that have been restored to look real. They are mostly Standard rockets and unlike the rockets of today that may reach 250 feet, these would exceed 900 feet, almost getting to the 1000 feet. They also smelt good and felt good in the hand, as every firework fondler will understand.

Finding dummy fireworks of any type is very hard, so if you have any, or any fired and dead old fireworks, let us know......

The copper friction tubes seen further on on this site are inert example of a system used to fire certain types of Naval Rockets, of which more can be seen HERE and also HERE They are included here to save web space, and hopefully you may find them of interest.

On the last page is a shot of a white/grey canvas cloth circle with a red spot in the middle, well it is the end of an empty powder charge bag from a large Naval gun!!! circa 1930-40. The red cross is from the other end of same.

I would love to give a more detailed explanation of these wonderful rockets etc., but time does not permit. I have had these images for ages and felt  they would never be put up, so I just put up the pics and hope you enjoy them. You can always ask me about the details. There are also some general firework images from about the same era.
