Standard and Brock Firework Rockets from the 1980s
These were sent in by my pal Barry Shephard of Nottingham, UK. All are inert dummies which he had the good sense to collect when most shops were "dustbin-ing" their window display items, such as these inert shop window dummies. They are most rare and unusual in that they show the boxes they came in too.
These are the best photos anyone has so far sent in to me, so a big thank you to you Barry, especially as he is sharing them. They are all big files, about 700k, but you can see why.
If more people were like Barry so much of our firework heritage with it's wider grasp of British social history would not be so scarce. So if you have it - share it! Please!
